Students

  • Nope! Beginners through advanced students are all welcome.

  • Our program will allow you to explore what you might be interested in or not across creative and business disciplines.

  • Yes! Our curriculum spans a wide arena of focal points. Additionally, if you stay for more than one cohort, you will have the chance to switch your focal points.

  • That is not part of our typical curriculum, however, if you express interest in this, we may be able to connect you with people that can assist in that process.

  • Yes. The program is built on collaboration.

  • Missing sessions are discussed on a student-by-student basis.

  • Yes! Students can continue through cohorts until they age-out.

Parents and Guardians

  • Youth aged 12-18 living in the SFV area.

  • As long as the student is 12-18 when starting the program, all good!

  • Yes, it is fully funded and at ZERO cost to the student and their guardians.

  • Our Program Director, Rheanna ‘caedance’ Lauren is onsite to facilitate all classes, fostering a space for external guest educators to share their knowledge through our program design. You can read more about the on-site team HERE.

  • We send out weekly curriculum agendas, so you will know what your student is learning each week. You will also be welcome to join us on the final graduation event to see one of the major outcomes of your students’ time with us.

  • This depends on the cohort and curriculum. Semester-based programs are typically once a week after school for about 3 hours with optional additional opportunities. Summer camps are all-day for the period of the camp.

  • They do not need to bring anything supplemental.

  • It is typically a showcase of the skills your student and their cohort have learned over the course of their time with us. The showcase itself varies by cohort.

Collaborators

  • We are open to nearly anything! Guest speaking/teaching, hosting a class or field trip in your space, and more.

  • Guest speakers will work with the programming team to determine where their specialty, whether creative or business, fits into the curriculum for that cohort (or future cohorts). A guest speaker would likely work with the students for about an hour during semesterly cohorts and for longer periods of time during summer cohorts.

  • Collaborators, whether individuals or organizations, will be vetted through several meetings with the HMA team and, depending on involvement, may be subject to the same safety measures as staff. Collaborators are selected based on the needs and interests of the program and its students.

  • As much as guests can commit to that aligns with the time we have with the students.
